Coronet Peak in Otago is a popular hiking and mountain biking destination. It’s located near the city of Queenstown and is easily accessible via highway. The peak offers stunning views of the Southern Alps, Lake Wakatipu, and the Remarkables range. Its low elevation and easy access makes it a great spot for novice hikers or those just wanting some fresh air. It's possible to hike the 4.5 km Coronet Peak Tracks which makes its way along the mountainside and past several mountain tarns. Along the way, you'll get both incredible views and also some areas of interesting alpine vegetation. There's also plenty of options for different routes if you're looking for more of a challenge.
