Alpe d'Huez is a world-famous ski resort located in the French Alps, renowned for its sunny weather and extensive network of slopes. Often nicknamed the Island of the Sun, the resort boasts around three hundred sunny days a year, making for excellent skiing conditions. It is home to the Sarenne, which is the longest black run in Europe, stretching sixteen kilometers from the peak of Pic Blanc down to the valley. With over two hundred and fifty kilometers of interconnected pistes, the ski area caters perfectly to both beginners and expert freeriders. Walking in Alpe d'Huez offers an exceptional alpine experience with over 250 kilometers of marked trails set against the dramatic backdrop of the Grandes Rousses massif. Hikers of all skill levels can explore routes ranging from gentle walks around pristine mountain lakes to challenging high-altitude treks. During the summer months, the resort's lift system remains open to carry walkers up to breathtaking viewpoints like the Pic Blanc summit at 3,330 meters. Along the paths, you will encounter vibrant wildflower meadows, cascading waterfalls, and spectacular views of the nearby Ecrins National Park.
