The Telluride Ski Resort is a year round destination located in the southwest corner of Colorado. The resort is in the southern San Juan Mountains, part of the Rocky Mountains, and is home to the highest concentration of 13,000 and 14,000 foot peaks in North America. Skiing in the Mountain Village is a popular winter activity, with a variety of terrain perfect for all levels of skiers and snowboarders. There is a lift system which takes skiers up the mountain to access runs ranging from easy greens to challenging double blacks. Off the skiing trails, there are plenty of après ski bars, restaurants and shops. Additionally, snowshoeing, snowmobiling and ice-skating are popular activities in the Mountain Village.
Hiking in Mountain Village is a great way to explore the natural beauty of this remote, mountainous area. The trails offer a variety of terrain, from easy leisurely walks through forests and meadows, to technical rock and scree climbing. The village itself is idyllic and full of character, with picturesque houses and bridges. Wildlife spotting can be fun, with birds and deer often seen. Be sure to bring plenty of water and some snacks for a rewarding and memorable experience.
