Kirkwood Mountain Resort is a year-round resort in Kirkwood, California south of Lake Tahoe that focuses on skiing and snowboarding in winter and hiking and mountain-biking in summer. Kirkwood is one of the region's largest resorts, and is well known for having one of the highest average snowfalls and a broad selection of advanced skiing terrain. The mountain is unique in that it has 2 mi (3.2 km) ridgeline at the top.

Kirkwood Mountain Resort is a ski resort located in Kirkwood, California. It is the southernmost ski area in the Lake Tahoe region. Kirkwood offers world-class skiing with an average snowfall of over 500 inches a year and boasts over 2,000 acres of skiable terrain. The resort has a variety of terrain to offer from groomers, to steeps, to open bowls, to wooded skiing, and even two backcountry access gates. Beginner and intermediate skiers can enjoy the many groomed runs in the meadows area, while experienced skiers will love the wide variety of terrain in Cornice Bowl and The Wall. Kirkwood also features a terrain park, night skiing, and a snowboard half-pipe.
Kirkwood is a popular destination for hiking, with over 35 miles of trails in the area. The trails are varied, ranging from easy to strenuous and from high mountain passes to forest and meadow walks.
